Whether it's respect for human rights or sustaining our natural environment – TreeCrops is aware of its responsibility to create a better world through trade. Tree Crops Africa has adopted the most stringent standards for sustainable natural resource management and is committed to fair and equitable trade in this newly developing natural products business. Our Code of Conduct is the basis for our business.
Environmental, Social and Economical sustainability. They play the prime role in our business and go together. Inventories and plans are the basis for all our activities. We constantly strive for improvement and seek independent certification to show our clients and the world that we comply with national and international regulations.
Ethical Biotrade
The Union for Ethical BioTrade is a membership-based association that promotes sustainable and ethical trade in products that come from biodiversity. TreeCrops was one of the first five companies in the world that underwent the comprehensive UEBT audit that combines Fair Trade and Organic aspects. The audit tested the standards with TreeCrops and results form the basis for our full UEBT certification.
Organic Certification
TreeCrops has a unique approach to manage resources in line with international organic production standards. Contracted natural woodlands owned by local communities serve as supply areas for all our certified products. Traceability and strict controls throughout the supply chain give the buyer confidence that our products are free from contaminants.
Access and Benefit Sharing
Our Fair Trade approach commits us to distributing monetary benefits that go beyond the values of direct trade. Our suppliers have the right to negotiate levies for all certified products they sell to us. Social projects raise the living standards of our suppliers and the community as a whole. Trade in our natural products is the basis for self-defined development at the beginning of the supply chain.
